TCMHS has received a $5,000 grant from the MainStreet Foundation of Androscoggin Bank to support programs for children.

AUBURN, LEWISTON, BRIDGTON,OXFORD, FARMINGTON, RUMFORD, ME: Tri-County Mental Health Services (TCMHS) has received a $5,000 grant from the MainStreet Foundation of Androscoggin Bank to support programs for children. The funds are helping to purchase therapeutic games, art therapy supplies, as well as provide funding to help families meet basic needs.

"We are pleased to partner with the Main Street Foundation in our mutual goal of providing hope and opportunity for vulnerable children in our community," says Chris Copeland, TCMHS Executive Director.

  • Gas money for parents to visit their hospitalized child in Bangor
  • 3 mos gym membership for teenager who needed positive activities
  • 1 week at camp for a child who didn't have funding
  • Bean bag chairs for treatment for sensory disordered client
  • Art supplies
  • Children´s gym games and toys
  • School supply purchases for a number of children
  • Gift certificates for good attendance at Children's Group Therapy
  • Therapeutic books on attachment
  • Books for children and parents on Anger Management, etc.

TCMHS is Maine´s most comprehensive agency dealing with the psychological and social well-being of children, adults and elders, serving about 7,000 people each year, nearly half of whom are children. Services are provided in schools, homes, community locations, and in Tri-County´s multiple locations throughout Androscoggin, Oxford, Franklin, and Northern Cumberland Counties.

The MainStreet Foundation awards tens of thousands of dollars every year to organizations trying to make a difference in our communities, with a special focus on serving youth most at risk.
