Tri-County Mental Health Services has moved its 24-Hour Crisis Services
and Assertive Community Treatment programs (ACT/HOPE)

230 Bartlett St. Ribbon Cutting

LEWISTON - Tri-County Mental Health Services has moved its 24-Hour Crisis Services and Assertive Community Treatment programs (ACT/HOPE) to leased offices in a spacious new building at 230 Bartlett Street. The consolidation will improve access and convenience for consumers, as well as enhance coordination between the programs. The 15,000 square foot building will house approximately 50 employees. The agency hosted a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony and Business After Hours in conjunction with the Androscoggin Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, September 28.

Speakers at the event commended Tri-County and its partners on the new building and the quality services that the agency provides to the community. City Councilor and Tri-County Mental Health Services board member Ronald Jean noted, "Tri-County's committed vision for patient recovery indeed goes hand in hand with the fact that it's a "new day" within the City of Lewiston amidst growth, development, goals, dreams, and renewed energy."

Chris Copeland, Executive Director, said the move is in response to growth and expansion by the region's most comprehensive mental health care provider. "By making crisis stabilization more accessible and coordinating with ACT, HOPE, and Intensive Community Integration, we can keep people safer and avoid hospitalizations." He noted that the collaboration between health care providers, the city, private financing and developers and industry is critical to create a stronger and more vibrant community. "As impressive as this building is, the real significance to the community is the impressive staff and services we are able to provide from it. I believe L/A should be very proud of the quality and quantity of treatment and support services available,"he said.

Tri-County Mental Health Services is Maine's most comprehensive agency dealing with the psychological and social well-being of children, adults, and elders, serving over 7,000 individuals each year with innovative programs and services addressing mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation/developmental disabilities, autism, and more. Its philosophy of building toward recovery and sensitivity to traumatic experiences of consumers gives hope to individuals, families, and communities. TCMHS serves the counties of Androscoggin, Franklin, Oxford and North Cumberland and beyond. Outpatient clinics are located in Lewiston (1155 Lisbon Street), Farmington, Rumford, Oxford, and Bridgton. There are also numerous housing locations. Administrative Offices are located in Auburn.
