Tri-County Mental Health Growing In Oxford
New Manager Will Guide Further Expansion

OXFORD, ME: Tri-County Mental Health Services (TCMHS) is pleased to welcome Melinda Chadbourne, a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, as Manager for its Oxford Hills Unit. Melinda brings to the position more than 17 years of experience working with child and family clients, as well as extensive administrative and clinical management expertise.

Her varied experience will fit well with Tri-County's dynamic growth in the Oxford Hills Region, which has doubled in the last year. It now employs approximately 25 people and serves almost 1,000 individuals each year with more than 11,000 visits. According to Catherine Ryder, TCMHS Program Director, the Oxford Hills Unit has added a number of innovative new programs, including Multi Systemic Therapy (MST) for adolescents and Intensive Community Integration (ICI) for adults. The Unit has launched a new service for adult medication management called Pro-Care that utilizes a clinic model and has greatly expanded access to services. "With our new approach we are able to reach more people in a more timely manner," she reports.

Chadbourne attended the College of William and Mary in Williamsburg, Virginia, and Christopher Newport University in Newport News, Virginia. She holds a master of Education in Professional Counseling, Specialist of Education in Professional Counseling, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Fine and Performing Arts. Originally from North Bridgton, she comments she is excited about getting started. "I am especially looking forward to getting to know the people here and providing services to meet the needs of the community of Oxford county which happens to be where my mother's family originates". She will begin work in July.

Tri-County Mental Health Services is Maine's most comprehensive agency dealing with the psychological and social well-being of children, adults, and elders. TCMHS serves over 7,000 individuals each year with innovative programs and services addressing mental health, substance abuse, mental retardation/developmental disabilities, autism, and more. Its philosophy of building toward recovery and sensitivity to traumatic experiences of consumers gives hope to individuals, families, and communities in Androscoggin, Northern Cumberland, Franklin and Oxford counties.
