The lives we touch can be your legacy.
A simple way to make a lasting difference is to include a bequest to Tri-County in your will or estate plan. By having an up-to-date will, you can ensure that your wishes – for your loved ones and for Tri-County – are realized as you intended. You can also secure the future of TCMHS and its mission to provide quality mental health programs, services and advocacy in our community. If you have already included Tri-County in your will or estate plan, please let us know. We would be grateful for the opportunity to thank you for your generosity.
There are several ways to include a bequest in your will or revocable living trust. Here are several examples to consider with your family and share with your attorney and professional advisors:
“I give, devise, and bequeath to Tri-County Mental Health Services, Lewiston, Maine,…”
"…the sum of (_______________ dollars) or (_______ per cent) or (the rest, residue, and remainder of my estate) to be used for the general purposes of Tri-County Mental Health Services at the discretion of its Board of Directors."
"…the sum of _______________ dollars and direct that the principal and the income therefrom shall be used for the purposes following: (here specify in detail the purposes)."
Bequest for the Endowment
"…the sum of _______________ dollars to be held in trust and the net income only to be used for the following: (here specify in detail the purposes). This fund is known as the Promise Fund."
Our legal name is "Tri-County Mental Health Services" and the tax identification number is
01-0316813. The address of TCMHS is 1155 Lisbon St., PO Box 2008, Lewiston, ME, 04241-2008.
Tri-County welcomes the opportunity to work with donors, attorneys, and financial planners to adapt this sample bequest language or create customized language to reflect unique circumstance and/or charitable objectives, and to offer detailed information on the various methods of making a deferred gift by agreement or by bequest. Careful planning can maximize gift benefits for the donor, his or her heirs, and TCMHS. Please contact the Development Office at 207.783.9141 with any questions - we would be glad to assist you.
Remember: If your estate is subject to estate tax, a charitable gift may save your family money by decreasing taxes. Several tax laws will change dramatically in 2013, making this the perfect time to create or update your estate plan.
